Twisted Pair’s WAVE Demonstrates Compatibility with Motorola MC35 Handhelds

Seattle, Washington, USA – September 30, 2008 – Twisted Pair Solutions (www.twistpair.com), a pioneer in unified communications software built to open standards, today announced that its WAVE® software demonstrated full support for Motorola MC35 handheld devices during compatibility testing. For WAVE customers who are planning to deploy Microsoft Windows Mobile® 5.0 or 6.0 handheld devices as part of their deployment strategy, this testing will assist with mobile device criteria definition and selection.

With WAVE, the industry’s most widely deployed interoperable communications solution, Motorola handheld devices using Windows Mobile 5.0 or 6.0 can interoperate with any combination of communications assets, including two-way radios, analog and new IP phone systems, intercom systems, and PCs. Handhelds equipped with the WAVE Mobile Communicator client can monitor up to four radio channels and store audio locally for instant replay.

“Twisted Pair’s broad support for mobile devices enables companies to deploy the communications hardware they deem appropriate to meet their particular business objectives,” said Tom Guthrie, President and CEO at Twisted Pair Solutions. “The WAVE Mobile Communicator client was a key element of our WAVE 4.0 release and gives our customers the freedom to deploy a handheld device capable of working directly with push-to-talk radios."

WAVE software powers some of the world’s most advanced VoIP applications with a highly secure and flexible solution for unified group communications. Using standard IP networks as the unifying medium, WAVE allows disparate communications systems to all interoperate seamlessly. WAVE customers can now select the Motorola MC35, a device that combines the power of a mobile phone, notebook, camera and bar code scanner in a durable device whose product life exceeds that of a traditional smart phone or PDA.

Twisted Pair recently announced the availability of WAVE 4.0, a significantly enhanced version of the industry’s only software- and SDK-optimized unified communications solution. Designed to extend the capabilities and value of Microsoft unified communications applications and Nortel IP telephony solutions, WAVE enables businesses to incorporate push-to-talk (PTT) radios and other group communication systems into an enterprise unified communications environment. WAVE’s ability to include employees with radios into traditional unified communications environments is as easy as clicking a button on a desktop application, eliminating the expense and management complexities of deploying hardware-based radio dispatch equipment.
