Ensuring Interoperable, Real-time Group Communications for Strategic, Tactical, Joint, and Coalition Forces
As military missions have grown more complex, robust communications links have become crucial. Tactical units must be able to communicate with nearby forces on land, at sea, and in the air. Strategic commands need to communicate with Joint and Coalition forces, as well as with their own tactical units in the field. Military units must also be able to communicate with civilian public safety agencies during homeland security operations. How can military communications securely bridge between these diverse systems to achieve interoperability? The answer is WAVETM from Twisted Pair Solutions.
WAVE is a software application suite that manages secure, real-time group communications over the IP network, and with WAVE for LMRTM, you can enable interoperable communications over any audio source - including two-way radios, phones, PCs and connected PDAs. WAVE supports and bridges all military radio systems and supports all radio communications frequencies.
On modern battlefields, battalions may be deployed outside of radio range. With typical radio-based solutions, this means that one or more retransmission facilities must be located between units, and these retransmission facilities must be staffed, guarded, and re-supplied. WAVE eliminates the need for intermediate retransmission, however, by routing radio communications over IP and connecting units directly over the network. With WAVE, you can reduce operations and maintenance (O&M) expenses and keep your communications team out of harm's way.
