Collaboration
Data drives decisions and in today’s hyper-connected world, data is everywhere.
New technologies make it easier for organizations to share and visualize data. Web portals, data transformation services, GPS/GIS applications, video and a plethora of devices make it possible for people to share data within and across organizational boundaries.
Collaboration allows people to share and consume the increasing amounts of data they are exposed to and helps them to make better decisions.
WAVE is a natural extension to collaboration systems by enabling participants to communicate by voice in real time and execute the decisions made based on the data provided by collaboration platforms. Users on phones, PCs, mobile devices, and radios can seamlessly communicate with one another as quickly and as easily as viewing other collaborative data.
Collaboration platforms offer a set of software components and software services that enable individuals to find each other and the information they need and to be able to communicate and work together to achieve common business goals.
Imagine using a sophisticated digital interaction device such as Microsoft’s Surface™ as a primary management interface for a real-time manufacturing process or as a control center for emergency incident management. RFID and GPS tracking can provide position data for components, vehicles or personnel. Video feeds can provide real-time imagery of facilities and locations or show participants in a video conference. Status and presence applications can show who is already participating in the event or those that are available to participate. WAVE software, as an integral application, would allow instant voice communications between the various collaborating participants, irrespective of the communications technology they use.
